EPICA Taps GOD DETHRONED Drummer For Upcoming CD
December 13, 2006Dutch female-fronted symphonic metallers EPICA have issued the following update:
"We are very happy to announce that Ariën van Weesenbeek will be the drummer on the next EPICA album. For those who aren't familiar with him yet, Ariën is the drummer of the Dutch death metal band GOD DETHRONED (who, by the way, have just released their new album 'The Toxic Touch'. If you haven't bought it yet you should do so tomorrow!)
"Ariën is no stranger to EPICA since he already worked together with Coen and Yves in PROJECT SIC as well as with Ad on DELAIN's debut album, 'Lucidity'.
"Just for the record: Ariën's contribution will only be limited to the CD, so we are still in search of a drummer of our own. For more info, mail to [email protected]."
EPICA's previously announced live DVD, which was filmed on May 4, 2006 at Paradiso in Amsterdam, Holland, has been delayed until next year, according to a posting on the group's official web site. The band's latest album, "Consign to Oblivion", was recorded in early 2005 and features a guest contribution from KAMELOT vocalist Roy Khan.
